Why it's hot
This little gem is a family run business and is a firm favourite amongst the residents of Roath, everything about this place is lovely.
As soon as you walk in you are hit with the impressive sandwich board that is arguably one of the best in the city. There is a refreshingly unusual range of sandwiches on offer that will make your mouth water just thinking about them.
Choice of fillings range from Mediterranean treats to more traditional English fillings so rest assured there is definitely something here to suit every taste.
If you're not in the mood for a sandwich then you can always indulge in a scrummy cake (the chocolate and blueberry cake is one of my personal favourites) or choose from a selection of cold mezes, stuffed vine leaves, olives, breads, hummus and cheeses.
The counter is bursting with tasty homemade and locally sourced produce that you wouldn't find in your local supermarket and thankfull, all food is also available to take away.
Believe me, you won't be disappointed!
Best Dish?
I especially recommend that you try the pesto pleasure. Mozzarella, Sun Blush tomato and lashings and lashings of pesto - Delicious.
The ambiance?
The décor is mellow, wood flooring, a mix of comfy and functional seating and contemporary art work adds to its cosy charm. This café is a perfect setting for a long lunch with your friends on a lazy Saturday afternoon.
Average cost for a meal for two?
The prices are very reasonable, you can expect to pay around £3 for a sandwich, £2 for a latte and £3 for a slice of cake. You can feed yourself and a special someone for the bargain price of £16 - worth every penny!
