Why is it hot?

Owned by the lovely Marcia, you're assured a friendly service, as there's a real emphasis on developing a repeat customer base.

Marcia ensures that herself and her daughter are kept up to the minute with the hottest alternative treatment fads, and so the therapies they offer are constantly evolving. Current treatments available include Indian head massage, Reiki, aromatherapy, in addition to spray tanning, waxing, botox and Deromologica face and body treatments.

Curious to try something new, I opted for the half body hot stone therapy, which uses a mix of massage with ritualistic use of stones heated in a water bath and placed on the body's chakra points. There were some strange sensations, particularly when tiny heated stones were placed between my toes and the feet then bound to hold them in place. As the stones were worked gradually up my body, accompanied with the sound of the stones clicking together ceremoniously, the strangeness disappeared quickly and was replaced with a sense of stillness.

The treatment is said to provide a deeper level of relaxation than pure massage, with the continuous heat therapy working harder to relieve stressed muscles and detoxify the body. I felt that the stone therapy did all of this and more, and if there's one new treatment you try this year, I can't recommend strongly enough that you experience stone therapy for yourself.
