Or art director Tanita popped her Snowbombing cherry last year and they say once you've been once, you'll go again and again. Here's why!
"By the time I arrived in resort the party was well underway with hardcore Snowbombers having travelled from the UK across Europe to Mayrhofen. The town was decked out in bunting, flags and people in all manner of fancy dress ahead of the legendary Street Party. Last years theme, unsurprisingly, was the Royal Wedding (hard to believe it was nearly a year ago we were eagerly anticipating the 4 day bank holiday and didn't even know what a great bum P-Mid had!). A few Jagerbombs in and tiara upon head, we head down to the main arena and taste our first Snowbombing set dancing in the streets alongside HRH the Queen, William, Kate herself and Harry - not sure if they were the real ones mind you ;-) The night then moves on and you can pick from several arenas of live music and DJ sets all washed down with more Jager of course.
So next day is time to do the Snow bit of snowbombing and who best to ski with... Eddie the Eagle (remember him, Brit ski jumper, bit of a legend, star of Snowbombing 2011). Well its like skiing with a celeb - people nudging each other at lunch 'is it him' 'that looks like
', paps stopping him mid-slope to grab a picture. Music highlight of the day had to be a mountain-top set from Mark Ronson! Made a good days skiing a great day's skiing! And then to top off a day of retro hero worship, a beer at the bottom of the slope is accompanied by none other than a fluro lycra-clad Mr Motivator getting the crowd moving!
Skiing for the day done, tonight is all about the arctic disco - with just a few hundred people lucky enough to get a mountain ticket for an exclusive Fat Boy Slim set. A unique and brilliant experience, and slightly scary when you have to find your way back off the top of the mountain to the gondola. In the Dark. But nothing quite beats dancing in an Igloo. This is followed up by heading to one of the arenas, the Racket Club. Highlights: Nero and Chase & Status live sets, and seeing Example live too, he was brilliant.
Day 2 of skiing (if it can be called that as after 2 Snowbombing nights, Snowbombing day starts to suffer!) and the sun is shining. After a few hours on the mountains its time to head back and we're met with a full on rave at the mountain restaurant nearest the gondola. Dancing in ski boots has never been so much fun! Its the perfect start to tonights fun which culminates in seeing the Prodigy live, in the Eristoff forest (a short walk through woodland to find a massive stage literally in the middle of the forest) and then another incredible set in the Racket Club from Fat Boy Slim.
This years event is set to be bigger and better than ever, with Snoop Dogg the confirmed headliner. He performs alongside Snowbombing regular Fat Boy Slim, Chase & Status, Example, The Vaccines, Wretch 32, Labrinth, Groove Armada and Yoda (someone I'd not seen until last years Snowbombing, but amazing!). Snowbombing is a pretty unbelievable experience, I saw acts I'd never seen live before who were incredible, danced in an Igloo, raved with Eddie the Eagle and Mr Motivator in ski boots and is probably the best few days I've ever spent in the mountains!"
