If you're looking for the perfect place to take the parents in London over Christmas, the lovely TINELLO should do the trick. Set in Pimlico, near Chelsea, on a road that has some of London's most stunning interior design shops, this cosy little Italian restaurant has a great ambience, friendly staff and beautifully simple Italian food done really really well. It has that classic grown-up vibe yet is cool enough to satisfy that generational compromise, which is why it's one of those you really need to take the 'rents.
We started with a selection of Italian hams, which makes a perfect sharing dish. And the roast beetroot and ricotta cheese salad was a great little accompaniment. Homemade papardelle with wild-boar ragout was a deliciously decadent main course, while the gnocchi dumplings with wild mushrooms were superb. We finished off with a lovely chocolate tart and a cheese platter (and, mama mia, if you love your Italian cheeses, there's enough to feed a small cheese-loving army!)
The decor is warm and unpretentious, the vibe is friendly and relaxed, which is why it's a firm favourite with all the locals. Always a good sign! So if you're looking for that perfect Italian restaurant for a special occasion, this is def the one for you. Perfetto.
