Bright Young Things at Selfridges

Want to know the HOT new faces to watch in fashion for 2012? This month Selfridges have dedicated their amazing window space to emerging fashion designers, photographers and illustrators for 2012 Bright Young Things initiative.

The talent-scouting project, which launched last year, cultivates budding creative flair. This year it features fifteen British designers from the worlds of fashion, food, art and design. Unveiled last week, the iconic department store has given each promising talent the opportunity to create their own displays in the windows on Oxford Street and Duke Street.

From start to finish, they will design their window space- and with over a million shoppers walking past Selfridges each week, it’s the perfect platform to share their artistic vision.

Sarah McCullough, Selfridges’ Windows and Concepts Manager, says: “Last year’s Bright Young Things windows scheme was so incredibly vibrant and original.... We’re proud to be able to provide this platform for UK creativity.”

The designers will also have the chance to sell their collections from three temporary pop-up stalls in Selfridge’s flagship store, as well as on-line.

Personally we can’t wait for Lady Gaga favourite Sorcha O'Raghallaigh to unveil her wacky window craft and see what fashion favourite Maarten van der Horst's creates. So if you’re looking to get those creative juices flowing in 2012, then why not head down to Selfridges and see what they’ve done. We love it.

The initiative runs until the end of February.
