Way more industry and where hipsters rub shoulders with the international jet set, West Hollywood is where rock-and-roll meets fashion, art merges with lifestyle and everyone is free to be themselves.
Located next to Beverly Hills at the foot of the Hollywood Hills, WeHo (as the locals call it) is just 1.9 square miles in size and home to 39,000 residents and was founded in 1984 as an independent city. Unlike the majority of LA, we found that is was the most walkable city, with loads of street culture, shops and restaurants that you can take am oh-so-chic stroll between.
SEE WHAT WE'VE BEEN WEARING EVERY DAY & NIGHT IN LA!
West Hollywood is home to the The Sunset Strip, famous for chic hotels and rock and roll nightlife and venues such as the Roxy, Whisky A Go-Go, Viper Room and Key Club. The Strip was named for the strip of Sunset Boulevard between the cities of Beverly Hills and Los Angeles, in what was formerly unincorporated and unpoliced county land. The lack of police attracted mafia, speakeasies and gambling in the 1920s-30s., marking it as one of the coolest areas around for decades to come...
In the 1960s, The Strip was ground zero for the counterculture movement (the Doors were the house band at the Whisky), and in the 1980s hair bands like Guns N Roses got their start here. Hip hotels in the area include Mondrian, Andaz West Hollywood (where team Company spent their amazng last night - it is so hip it hurts), The London West Hollywood and Sunset Tower.
GET INSPIRED BY THE COOLEST LA STREET STYLE
Also nearby and made famous by lyric in a certain Sheryl Crow song, Santa Monica Boulevard is the longest street that runs through West Hollywood, and is the citys Main Street where the locals eat, shop and play. To affirm WeHos inclusiveness, the city installed rainbow-colored crosswalks at the intersection of San Vicente and Santa Monica Boulevard, in the heart of the gay nightlife district, where everyone is free to be themselves (something we are big fans of at COMPANY!)

West Hollywood Design District, formely The Avenues, is as the name suggests, West Hollywoods uber cool design district consisting of the popular shopping streets of Melrose Avenue, Robertson Boulevard and Beverly Boulevard. Home to ultra-high-end interior design businesses, and an increasingly interesting assortment of fashion houses, including Balenciaga, Christian Louboutin, Alberta Ferretti, Rag & Bone, and 3.1 Phillip Lim, we were in totoal shopping lust as we wanderd through the cool streets. Take any of the turnings and wander down residential roads with amazing houses and gorgeous gardens.

And you can't come to West Hollywood without trying to make a reservation at the world (in)famous Chateau Marmont - the incredible building was built as an apartment block but converted into a hotel after the depression, and has since been home to celebs and millionaires, with Director Sofia Coppola shooting her film Somewhere at the hotel in 2010, and it's the surest place for a major A-lister celeb spot!
Team Company thought West Hollywood was INCREDIBLE - and definitely worth a visit or even basing your stay here if you come to Los Angeles. You. Will. Love. It!
