Shock horror - I actually have a job in fashion! A PAID job! I've always wanted to work in the fashion industry, and as I teenager I loved reading fashion magazines.

After I graduated I begged for work experience at every magazine I read. Harper’s Bazaar offered me my first internship. I spent hours planning my outfit for my first day only to find myself in a tiny cupboard for 4 weeks, but I LOVED it! This was my crash course in fashion.

I then interned at several other mags and finally Company Magazine. While I was there I got invited back to Freelance on Company’s High Street Edit and then I was offered the nine-month Fashion Assistant position.. FINALLY my dream has come true!

So here it is - my diary. I hope it’ll give you an insight into what a Fashion Assistant really gets up to...

So it’s my first week at Company! We have got a celeb cover shoot... amazing. My job is to get everything you could imagine for the shoot, so while I'm out and about I'm swapping my beloved heels for flats. I’m 5'3" so I love a heel, but Topshop black pumps are my handbag essential when trekking from appointment to appointment to see SS12 showrooms.

At White Smoke Communication I fell in love with these Moooooooo! Sunglasses -  I've got to get myself a pair of these for the summer.
