1. Snorkelling
Famous for their vibrant coral reefs, the Maldives are home to some of the most amazing species of tropical fish, turtles and sharks! Trips are often hosted by the islands’ friendly marine biologists; who can get you familiarised with the sea life you’ll encounter…
2. Surfing
Tropicsurf has 2 spots within the islands – Kuda Huraa and Anantara. From surfing basics to stand up paddle boarding, you can experience all the lessons you’ll need to be well on your way to becoming that surfer chick hitting the big waves. (Or that's what we told ourselves anyway...)
3. Dolphin Watching
What could be better than heading out to sea to where the dolphins live? Soft drinks and a sundeck – that’s what! Whilst getting a chance to top up the tan, you’ll also get to see the adorable spinner dolphins – so named because they jump out of the water and do somersaults! All the acrobatics of Sea World, but in their own home.
4. Cooking
Ever wondered how your favourite meals are made? Well at Anantara in Kihava you can create and then eat your own creations – with options for Thai or Japanese cuisine. We made our own sushi, it’s not as easy as it looks… Plus you get to take home a chopping board, apron and recipe cards to remind you of your newfound talent.
5. Eating Underwater..?
Kihava’s underwater restaurant – SEA, is a spectacle NOT to be missed. Oh and we should mention it also houses the only underwater wine cellar in the world! With luxury bottles as old as 1924, plus the coolest filtered champagne you’ll ever see – it’s blue! All with the 360 degree windows viewing the ocean floor - count the types of fish with the table handbooks.
6. Gormet dining
If you’re looking for epic meals on said paradise island holoday, then you won’t need to go far… Each resort have a selection of incredible restaurants and fine fare to try. In Kuda Huraa try Baraabaru, named one of the best restaurants for Indian food in the WORLD!
And if you’re looking for something interesting, you HAVE to try Salt at Anantara Kihavah – a menu that offers salt pairings with each dish!
7. Spa
The Four Seasons’ spa is situated on it’s own island! Special treatments include crystal facials and a new and exclusive night massage that is tailored to your star sign.
At Anantara, you can pick which oil is used from coconut to eucalyptus plus a choice of music – we chose the soothing sea obvs. Every massage comes with a view of the sea below with their tailored glass floor windows!
8. Sunrise Yoga
Perk up your lazy mornings with a spot of 7am yoga to energize you for the day ahead. And for those wanting to stay super fit whilst enjoying paradise, you can join the island gym too!
(Not the worst morning view, right?)
9. Cinema Under The Stars
Forget watching a DVD in your room (which you can do from an extensive Library) at Anantara, you can book out the open air space to watch the latest release of your choice! Get popcorn, champagne and even buffalo wing snacks to accompany you on comfy cushions under the palms and night sky.
10. Enjoying your giant bedroom/villa!
Ok so this isn’t exactly an activity, BUT when you’ve got your own mini infinity pool and your garden leads straight out to the beach, you HAVE to spend some time in there. For the best beds in the Maldives, visit Four Seasons, Kuda Huraa and the beach villas at Anantara Kihavah.
