Psychic Burger's new home is at uber-cool rock 'n' roll boozer The Old Queen's Head which we love for its highly Instagrammable interior: think rustic furniture, antiques galore and the odd piece of taxidermy thrown in for good measure. Fun Company fact: we shot Iggy Azalea, Gabrielle Aplin and Arlissa there for our April 2013 Rising Stars issue!
Highlights of the menu include the famous Psychic Burger, limited edition Pig Salad Burger, Soft Shell Crab Burger and a choctastic sundae for dessert. Sides include chilli 'n' cheese fries, BBQ beans, and the frankly genius beans and cheese fries. Check the menu out in all its glory HERE.
Since the Pig Burger was sold out (with only 15 available daily, they're VERY limited edition, dontchaknow), I opted for a Psychic burger with cheese fries.
The verdict? Unreal. This has to be the best burger in London. And believe me, I've tried them all. The delicious patty was perfectly seasoned and cooked medium-rare to perfection. Then there's the gorge American cheese and that Psychic sauce - a secret burger sauce recipe that only three chefs know, apparently. What I wouldn't give to know that recipe...
The fries were super salty (perfect for me, but maybe not for others) and for the first time in my cheesy chips obsessed life, I've found somewhere that includes cheese all the way through the pile of fries, not just on top. Amazing.
I then shared a sundae with my guest - and whilst the chocolate fudge sauce was incredible, the ice cream didn't taste of much. Maybe my tastebuds had just given up on life after accepting they're unlikely to experience anything tastier than the Psychic burger and cheesy fries ever again. It's quite possible.
