In a hidden nook of NW1 lies the Backyard Cinema. Every Thursday from July to September, a 12-foot screen plus powerful sound system provides epic entertainment. Film lovers can expect beanbags and deck chairs with cushions and blankets. And the food on offer (which you can bundle in your ticket price) is by Honest Burgers- reason enough, right!?

Kicking off their 10th anniversary with the UK premiere of French drama 'Two Days, One Night' starring Oscar-winner Marion Cotillard, plus the best film of the last 10 years - E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, as voted for by public vote, makes this year even more exciting! Single screenings are priced at £16 each, double showings are £20 and premiers are £24. All films start at 6.30PM

Hot Tub Cinema

Maybe the most bizarre cinema experience, seats are replaced by hot tubs and get to enjoy a giant screen of fabulous films, all whilst sat in a bubbling 40-degree bath! Get your bikini out and book.

Rooftop Film Club at Queen of Hoxton

Dates: 4th May to 30th September 2014

The summer screenings take place at the popular Shoreditch venue for approximately four months, starting early May. This outdoor space offers a BBQ drinks (including rum slushies!) plus headphones, so even if you’re at the back you can still hear the movie! Showing a range of classic, cult and recent releases shown on the roof for £13 a pop.

More London Free Film Festival

Dates: 3rd to 26th September 2014

Part of the More London Free Festival of music, theatre, film and fringe performances all summer, the 1,000-seat amphitheatre is located between HMS Belfast and Tower Bridge, an amazing setting, beware the weather though as screening may be cancelled if raining! Otherwise, bring a picnic, grab a cushion (for £1 donation) and enjoy!

Royal Opera House BP Big Screens

Set in London’s iconic Trafalgar Square showing powerful productions in this amazing free summer event.
