Holy CAU! We Might've Found the Best Steak in London

A great dinner out needs several things - an amazing menu (obviously), knowledgeable and fun staff, and a stunning location. And from the minute we arrived at the latest CAU restaurant in St Katharine Docks, we knew they'd nailed it.  Bringing the vibrancy, colour and cultural diversity of Buenos Aires, will be bringing a flavour of the Argentinian capital to the iconic St Katharine Docks in London and opened in April 2015.

Located adjacent to the Tower of London on the River Thames, St Katharine Docks is central London’s only marina, CAU has just opened on the ground floor of the newly refurbished Commodity Quay overlooking the West Basin of the marina, and we sat near the water's edge with a couple of glasses of excellent wine, and participated in some of the most enjoyable people watching ever!

The things that define the look of CAU and all that we love about it are here in abundance, including their corrugated booth seating and bright blue sky and grass imagery, and of course, that epic menu! 

There are a couple of different ways of ordering at CAU - either go for one small plate as a starter then onto a steak or main... or order a load of small plates for a more Tapas style experience, and we tried both ways! We would highly recommend the quesadilla, the gambas skewers and empanadas if you're going down that route, but seriously, the meat is the main event here.  

Choose your cut and then choose your sauce to custom make your perfect steak - we went for the Lomito ( a fillet of rump considered the finest cut in Argentina, combining the flavour of rump and the tenderness of fillet) accompanied by the signature chimichurri sauce and IT WAS DIVINE. As in, one of the most delicious things we've ever tasted. For reals, you have to try it!

To finish off our decadent and damn-delish meal, we opted for the odd sounding CAU cornflake ice cream sundae, which turned out to be light layers of lovliness - cornflake-flavoured ice cream, cornflakes, crumbled chocolate brownie and dulce de leche. A must-try... as the whole place is - book in now for one of the best (and best value) steaks in London.
